Built for civilian hospitals when the network is unavailable — nearby medical stations support each other, every clinician's phone serves as a workstation, on-site equipment can be replaced instantly, and multiple backup communication paths take over. When the network, servers, or even the building itself can't be used, care can continue.
Why is the phone the workstation? Because xGrid puts a Raspberry Pi in every station as a Local Kernel. Staff phones connect to the Pi over the station's Wi-Fi, and every PWA shares the same data — no external internet, no cell tower needed. This is the second architectural layer on top of the SDK: cross-device coordination.
